SK6 5PWFull Proposal
Sycamore tree located in north east corner of garden. This application seeks permission to fell a multi-stem Sycamore tree currently located at a lower elevation within the site, beneath the main canopy of the surrounding tree group. The tree is of limited arboricultural and visual value, particularly in comparison to the adjacent mature Beech trees, which are of significantly greater amenity and ecological importance. The Sycamore is heavily entwined with ivy and occupies a suppressed position within the canopy structure. It contributes minimally to the landscape character and offers little public visual amenity due to its low position and overshadowing by higher-value specimens. The tree's condition and structure suggest it is of limited long-term potential. Furthermore, the tree is causing physical damage to nearby property and the adjacent access lane. There is also ongoing damage to vehicles parked in the driveway below, likely due to falling debris. Its position also results in a notable reduction in natural light to the garden, adversely affecting the usability of the space. In line with a commitment to environmental stewardship and maintaining the local tree population, we propose to replant a native species tree more suitable to the location and landscape setting, ensuring long-term amenity and ecological benefit.
