Full Proposal

Plan to prune one large and mature Maple tree (Red maple (Acer rubrum) which is over 100 ft (90Yrs Old) but which has low overhanging branches which stretch from our garden into next doors garden (as a large canopy) and which due to ongoing growth become unstable where we have had large branches fall in recent storms both on our side and next door at number 4. So, advice from tree surgeon is of pruning back of some of the lower branches by 2-4 meters or take out those branches which are old or brittle but not to work on any height reduction of the tree at all, in order to keep this in proportion to the width of the trunk and to maintain the look of the maple. The last time this tree was pruned was well over 20 yrs ago, so it is overdue to keep it in good health. We are using the same tree surgeons who have cut this tree before and are experienced in maple care. Secondly to also then prune back an older cherry tree (Wild Cherry cultivar ?Plena?) opposite (approx. 30+ years old and 70-75 ft) which sits close to the fence on the boarder of our garden and the garden of 16 Mersey Rd also has a large canopy, which is now blocking light and which has some dead or diseased lower hanging branches which need pruning back by 2-4 meters or taking out to make safe. Hindle & Brown Tree Care, (Manchester Rd., Stockport, SK4 1NL) have assessed both trees and will carry out the works. HAR/CA14.
