Full Proposal

On 21st September 2025, as a result of severe winds, two large branches of our neighbours' oak tree broke, which were overhanging in our garden and if not attended to, would have fallen and caused a lot of damage to our plants and garden ornaments. We contacted our neighbour, and presumably they contacted the Cheshire East Council to inform them and get permission to trim the two broken branches, which has been done. There are still two further large overhanging branches from two separate oak trees (one from each tree) from our neighbour's garden. Our property is at the border of two Councils, with our property being in the Stockport Council area (16 Alders Road) and the neighbour's property in question being in the Cheshire East Council area (Light Alders Lane). There are a lot of tree leaves, wood debris and acorns falling from these branches during the year, which are sometimes concerning when children are playing in the garden. In addition, since there are many tall trees and hedges in our neighbour's garden, at the boundary to our garden, the sunlight to our garden has greatly been reduced and affected. We would therefore be grateful if we are permitted to cut the two overhanging branches into our garden. TPO 194E.
